The problem

Sound familiar?

01

Meetings where everyone nods, then nothing changes.

02

The same two people do all the talking. The rest stay quiet.

03

There’s tension in the team that nobody names.

04

You end up carrying accountability the team should share.

A manager at his desk, looking out the window, deep in thought

You’ve tried the usual fixes. A one-to-one with the quiet ones. A firmer word with the difficult one. A team lunch. It helps for a week.

That’s because these aren’t people problems. They’re patterns between people. And patterns don’t change by working harder on each person.

You're not alone. We asked 159 professionals in Singapore.

7%

believe managers in their organisation are definitely equipped to coach and develop people

45%

rarely or never have a developmental conversation with their manager

67%

of leaders say holding people accountable with empathy is the hardest thing to do consistently

80%

of employees name inconsistency between words and actions as a top frustration

Catalyst was shaped by what we heard. These are conversation skills, and they can be learned.

The promise

What changes for your team

Remember those four things? Here’s what they look like after Catalyst.

Before

Everyone nods in the meeting, then nothing changes.

After

Decisions stick, because the team actually agreed to them.

Before

The same two people do all the talking.

After

Every voice is in the room, including the quiet ones.

Before

There’s tension nobody names.

After

The hard conversation happens, openly and without blowing up.

Before

You carry accountability the team should share.

After

The team holds itself to account, so you don’t carry it alone.

And for you

  • You know where to start with a team, and what to do next.
  • You know when to step in, and when to step back.
  • You stop being the one with all the answers, and help the team find its own.

Everything is practical. You’ll use it with your team the week after: check-ins, team agreements, a team map, alignment conversations and session closes.

Our weekly meeting used to be me talking for an hour. Now two people who never spoke up are the ones challenging the plan. I talk less and we decide faster.

— Manager / Leader

How it works

Not just tools. A way to run it, from start to finish.

Most managers lead a team the way they were trained to manage: one person at a time. Most coaches bring 1:1 skills into a room of eight. It doesn’t land, because in team coaching the team is the client, not the people in it.

Picking up a few tools doesn’t fix that. What’s missing is knowing how the whole thing runs. How to kick it off. What to look for. Which conversation to have, and when. How to close it so the change lasts after you step back.

Catalyst gives you that end-to-end process. A guide you’ll keep coming back to, every time you work with a team.

A participant working through a conversation card during a workshop
1

Start it right

Agree with the leader what the work is for. Agree with the team how you’ll work together.

2

See what's really going on

Read the team as a whole, not as a list of personalities.

3

Run the conversations that matter

Get the quiet ones talking, name the tension, and align on direction.

4

Close so it lasts

Help the team own what changed, so it keeps going without you.

“This isn’t team-building. There’s no ropes course. There’s a real team, a clear process, and people who read teams for a living.”

Who it's for

Built for the people who work with teams

A facilitator listening closely to a participant in a workshop

People managers and team leads

Decisions still route through you, and the team brings you problems instead of thinking. You want a team that speaks up, challenges each other and owns results, whether you’re newly promoted or have led for years.

What changes: you run better team conversations and stop being the only one holding it together.

A facilitator in a small-group circle conversation

HR, L&D and OD practitioners

Leaders come to you when their teams are stuck. You’ve got programmes for individuals, but nothing structured for the team as a whole. You want a way in that’s practical and credible with business leaders.

What changes: you walk into a team with a clear process, from contracting with the leader to closing the work.

A facilitator engaging a room from the stage

Coaches

Your 1:1 practice is solid. Now clients are asking about their teams, and you’re not sure what changes when the client is eight people. You want to work with whole teams and grow your work with organisations.

What changes: you add team coaching to your practice, with 20 ICF hours toward PCC, ACTC or renewal.

No coaching background needed. You’ll need a team you lead, support or coach, because you’ll work on it during the intensive.

Why Catalyst

Why Catalyst, and not another team coaching programme

Start with 20 hours, not 60

Most team coaching programmes ask you to sign up for the full pathway upfront. Catalyst lets you start, use it with your team, and then decide.

A full process, not a bag of tools

You learn how to kick off, run and close team work, so you always know where you are and what’s next.

Work on your real team

During the intensive you map a team you actually lead, support or coach. You leave with a plan for it, not a case study.

Built on Singapore research

Shaped by our 2026 study of 159 Singapore professionals. Built for the teams you work with here, not imported from a textbook.

Taught by team coaches who do the work

Both faculty hold ICF’s Advanced Certification in Team Coaching and have worked with teams and systems in organisations for over 10 years.

Certified, and counted three ways

You’re certified as a Humancentric Team Coaching Catalyst. Your 20 hours also count toward ICF Level 2 (PCC), ACTC or CCE renewal.

into the wild

From your faculty

Learn from the author of Into the WILD

Choy Kiew didn’t just study coaching cultures. She built one, as a senior leader in Japan and China, then wrote the book on how to do it.

Into the WILD: Creating a Coaching Culture at the Workplace tells the story of a fictional company that moves from a toxic culture to one built on curiosity, courage and collaboration. The second half sets out the WILD Framework, a four-step approach any leader can use to start building a coaching culture in their own team.

Why it matters for Catalyst. The book asks how a whole workplace changes. Catalyst works one level down: how a single team starts having better conversations. You learn from someone who has done both.

In their words

What people say after working with Lyn and Choy Kiew

Manager / Leader

Our weekly meeting used to be me talking for an hour. I changed how I open and close it, and now two people who never spoke up are the ones challenging the plan. I talk less and we decide faster.

HR / OD

Leaders kept asking me to fix their teams and I had nothing structured to offer. Now I contract with the leader first, map the team, and run the session with a clear process. Business heads take it seriously because it’s practical.

Coach

I’d coached individuals for years and assumed a team was just more people. It isn’t. The first time I coached a whole leadership team after this, I knew where to start, what to watch for, and when to stay out of the way.

Manager / Leader

I thought my team had a performance problem. It was a trust problem. Once I could see that, I stopped chasing individuals and worked on how we work together. Three months on, I’m no longer the bottleneck.

HR / OD

It gave our HR team one shared language for team health. We use the same map across departments now, so we see the patterns instead of putting out fires one team at a time.

Coach

Two of my 1:1 clients asked me to work with their teams. Before, I would have said no. Now team coaching is a growing part of my practice, and my work with organisations has grown with it.

Where this leads

Your path to ICF's Advanced Certification in Team Coaching

Catalyst is complete on its own. If you want to go all the way to ACTC, here’s the route.

1

Module 1 · You start here

Catalyst

20 hours · 3 weeks

Certified as a Humancentric Team Coaching Catalyst. Counts toward ICF Level 2 (PCC), ACTC or CCE renewal.

2

Module 2

Practitioner

55 hours · 5 months

Two real team engagements, 5 hours of supervision and ICF competency labs. With Catalyst, you’re a certified Humancentric Team Coach, with 75 education hours (ACTC needs 60).

3

Experience

Five team engagements

ICF needs five team coaching engagements in the last five years. Two are done during Practitioner, so you need three more.

ICF

Apply and sit the exam

Submit your ACTC application and pass the ICF Team Coaching Certification Exam. You’re now ICF ACTC.

Optional

After ACTC · Steward (25 hours, 4 weeks). For practising team coaches who want to go deeper into the less visible side of team dynamics and their own presence in the room. Counts as CCE.

ACTC is an add-on to an existing ICF credential, so you’ll need an ACC, PCC or MCC to apply. Not an ICF coach yet? You can still take Catalyst and Practitioner, and add the ICF credential later through our Humancentric Coach Certification Programme. Practitioner dates will be announced after the first Catalyst run.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Yes. Catalyst was built with managers in mind. You don’t need coaching training. You need a team you lead or work with, and the willingness to look at how it really works.

You can lead like a team coach: read the team as a whole, ask instead of tell, and stop being the one everything routes through.

Yes. When you complete Catalyst, you’re certified as a Humancentric Team Coaching Catalyst. Complete Practitioner as well and you’re certified as a Humancentric Team Coach.

Catalyst gives you 20 ICF team coaching education hours. You can use them toward Level 2 (PCC), toward ACTC, or for CCE renewal.

Yes. You’ll learn the full process, from contracting with the team leader to closing the work. That gives you a structured way to support teams, and a shared language to use with leaders.

Not a coaching engagement. Just bring a team in mind: one you lead, support, belong to or have worked with. It becomes your case study during the intensive. It stays in the room, and you don’t need to name anyone.

No. There are no games for the sake of it. Everything you do in the room is something you’ll use with a real team.

ACTC is for coaches who already hold an ICF credential (ACC, PCC or MCC). You can still take Catalyst and Practitioner now, and add the ICF credential later.

Not for Catalyst. Practitioner includes two real team engagements. You’re encouraged to bring your own teams for these, and we’ll help if you need support.

No. Catalyst is complete on its own.

Yes. Download the summary sheet for your manager, or request a formal quote and we’ll invoice your organisation directly.
